Best charger so far September 1, 2010 J. Boscan (Caracas, Venezuela) Excellent induction charger. You can use it with wii-motion and with or without rubber jacket in the wii remote. You just place the remote on top of base until light goes red. Light will turn green when batteries are charged. I did not find it difficult to place remote in right position, it looked very easy to me. Product looks very well made and it is nice to the eye. It wont take much space also. I will definetively ecommend this product
Didn't last long! Not recommended by Nintendo!! August 26, 2010 Gene Cloner (St Louis) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a convenient way to charge Wii remotes especially if you have the motion plus accessory. You dont have to remove batteries and you can charge the remotes with wii motion plus and the sleeves on. Sounds great! but this product does not seem to be of high quality. Perhaps the high market demand caused quality control to drop!
The battery packs worked for a day and then my wii remotes went crazy. When the induction battery packs are in, the wii remotes would 'blink' constantly (when the console is off) and lose the charge. When I switch the console on, I need to sync the remotes every time. Secondly, the charging pad indicator light stopped working. Even after charging, it wont turn green and stay red.
I called both Nintendo and Energizer (PDP) about this problem. Nintendo said they do not recommend these chargers since they are known to cause issues like this and use of such chargers would void warranty. The PDP drep idn't even ask a question and said mail the unit back to us (No RMA or anything). We will repair and mail it back to you. I am choosing to return this to Amazon and wait until the issues with this charger are resolved.
Amazingly disappointing August 18, 2010 M. Pearce (North Ogden, Utah United States) I got a single charge out of one of the battery packs before getting the red blink of death. A single charge. Seriously? I thought maybe it had a bad connection because of the silicone sleeve, nope. Even just putting the batteries alone on the charger, with the magnets pulling them into "perfect" placement and all I get are the blinks.
Also, no option for black remotes, the battery packs only come in white.
Used up too fast August 11, 2010 The Nurbler (Rockledge, FL United States) I installed the battery packs in my controllers and placed them on the charger to ensure an initial charge. The next morning, both were showing green and charged. Both controllers worked great until the Wii reported the controller battery low. One has recharged just fine, but the other never, EVER took another charge.
Effectively this came with only one set of rechargeable batteries for me (and I've little faith in how long the other set will last, either). Not being a heavy Wii user, I only discovered this problem today. Then I discovered that my window for returning this as defective expired THREE DAYS ago. I should've looked closer as I generally expect at least a 90 day warranty on reusable/rechargeable things.
I contacted Energizer to see if they had any plans to produce black battery packs for this product and they essentially told me it was a secret.
So, while I really like the concept for this product, and I think it will work well if I can get some new, reliable battery packs (preferably in black to match my remotes), I'd rate it much higher. But given the experience I had, it is lucky to get 3/2 stars.
Works great August 11, 2010 TavisJohn This charger works great. I now have 2 Wii controllers that I know are ready to go. Anyone can just grab a controller and when they put it back, it automatically charges.
I will happilly purchase another one should I start having a need for more controllers.
